Artwork by Judie McEwen

Living in Arizona since 1998 has proven to be a strong creative inspiration for artist, Judie McEwen. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where she began studying art at the age of seven. Her first teacher was Mabel Griffin, a well-known Atlanta artist. As an adult Judie studied at the Atlanta School of Art and eventually became a student of Forrest Jacobs, who was for many years the muralist for the State of Georgia.

Judie works in a multitude of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, pen and ink, gourds, and clay.  Her raku spirit masks are currently on display at the Feminine Mystique Gallery in Tubac.  Judie teaches painting and clay art in Oro Valley. She is  past president of the Southern Arizona Arts Guild, and is a member of the Visual Arts Committee and the Fall Festival Committee of the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council.
